March Madness

If there are lessons to be learned from March, it's that I really dig the arranged shots. My favorites are the soap and smoke ones. Even though I like them though, I think I want to try and take more pictures during the day. I usually end up taking a last second macro at 11 or so just to have one for the day. I'm not sure if I'll be able to, but we'll see.

I need a lot more practice at this, too (more here). Pity I didn't have any milk at home :(

I know, I know, another smoke shot, but this one was built from a walkthrough, so, there's a reason, see? :)

More here. Still having some troubles getting a consistent black background. Having a lot of fun though :)

Very tired so I just tested the lightbox with my point and shoot. With my DSLR. How very meta. I need to get a white backcloth too.

I'm actually pretty fond of some of the macro photos from last month, and I think I'll keep working on them. My favorite by far is the ice cube, but I think I'm also very drawn to the long line that goes into the distance. That's a good thing, but I need to be aware of it more before it becomes overused. Also, aside from the grading, there's really only one 'slice of life' photo, and while that is an accurate representation of how much of a life I have, I think I'd like to get a few more of those. I've been desaturating and partially desaturating many of my photos, and I'm not sure why. Maybe I need to go flower hunting and really get some eye-popping colors.

Also, it totally looks like that woman in the painting is giggling over the penis and vagina shot.
